Sad loss of Councillor.
Terrington Parish Council is greatly saddened to report the passing of one of our own Councillors, Stephen Gibson.
Stephen went missing in the North York Moors and was found near Cropton on 14th November.
He served this community on the Parish Council for a number of years and his contribution will be greatly missed. Not just one to attend meetings, Stephen was passionate about the conservation and appearance of our surroundings and the countryside in general. He annually pushed for our litter picking campaign, clearing the roadside and hedgerows of all manner of things.
A ready volunteer for many other tasks when they arose including path clearance, tree and shrub pruning Stephen was keen to be involved and get the job done! Never one to shy away from giving his opinion at our meetings, Stephen was also keen that your Parish Council should not spend money unecessarily, nor to dwell in meetings on the frivolous, despite possessing an unique sense of humour.
Very active in other organisations, in particular All Saints Church and in the local farming community, Stephen will be missed by many. We extend to his wife Joceline, our sincere condolences.
