Apologies
Apologies were received from Cllr C Wood and Cllr Blunt. Best wishes were sent to Cllr Wood for a very swift recovery.

Minutes
The minutes of the meeting held on 11th January 2016 were agreed and signed – proposed by Cllr Lewis and seconded by Cllr Watson – all in favour
Matters Arising
Public Footpaths
The Ranger indicated that repairs would be put in hand in March/April.
Trees Mowthorpe Lane and top of New Lane
Mr Bayes had not yet inspected the trees
UK Government Stocks
Further information had been received and cheques to the value of £33.68 had been paid to the Parish Council.
Accounts
It was proposed by Cllr Winning and seconded by Cllr Watson to pay retrospectively £37.00 to Ryedale District Council for the collection of garden refuse and £20.00 to The Village Hall for the last meeting – all in favour. It was proposed by Cllr Lewis and seconded by Cllr Watson to pay the Clerks remuneration of £750 – £650 Parish Council and £100 Burial Board plus £37.00 expenses and £192 .00 to YLCA for the 2016 membership – all in favour.
Vacant position on Council
As there had been no request for an election to be held it was the responsibility of the Parish Council to co-opt a new Councillor. Cllr Watson suggested Mrs J Gibson may be interested and Cllr Watson would contact her.
The Queen’s 90th Birthday
A meeting is being held at the Village Hall to discuss arrangements and it is hoped that members of the different bodies in the village will attend.
Highway Maintenance
Several pot holes were reported – Cemetery Lane, back of the shop, near the Village Hall and near the telephone exchange – the Clerk would contact the Highways.
Defibrillator
Progress is being made re the defibrillator – NYCC have given approval for a grant of £750 and Terrington Over 60’s club have donated £250. The final cost will be approximately £1500.
It was suggested that the wall near the Telephone Kiosk would be the most appropriate place for it to be placed.

The Chairman opened the meeting to the public and Cllr Wainwright informed the meeting of issues from Ryedale District Council including the increase of the Council Tax.

Correspondence
Village Signs – Howardian Hills AONB
The traditional direction sign at Flatt Top East is to be taken away for repair and renovation. This work is part of an on-going programme to refurbish the historic signs in the AONB.
Restoration of traditional Village Name Signs
The AONB have funding the restoration of traditional village name signs. 2 signs at Terrington and 1 sign at Ganthorpe qualify but a nominal contribution of £100 per sign is required. The Chairman agreed to investigate this further.
Exchange of Information
Litter Picking
The annual litter picking was, this year, combined with the Clean For The Queen campaign, and thanks were expressed to all who joined in to make it a success.
